Summer Well Spent | HC Company 2026

As the leaves begin to fall and cooler weather settles in, we’re taking a moment to look back on an exciting and memorable summer at HC Company🍁

2026 was one for the books! From moving into our new office to celebrating project milestones, connecting with our community, and wrapping up the season with one last HC Family Night at Wahooz, there was no shortage of memorable moments.

Here’s a look back at what kept Team HC busy this summer:

June kicked off an exciting new chapter as HC Company officially moved into our new office! We also welcomed our summer interns and got out into the community at CanTastic Creations, Eagle Fun Days, St. Luke’s Kid For A Night, and Colliers Game Event. July was all about enjoying summer together. We celebrated the Fourth of July and fired up the grill for our first BBQ at the new office, giving Team HC a chance to enjoy our new space and spend time together. August kept the momentum going with ribbon cuttings for John Adams Academy, Cheyenne Classical Academy, and Valor Classical Academy.  We participated in the Big Dig, gathered our team for our last team BBQ for the season, and entered our Labor day weekend with the HC Family Night at The Hawks Baseball Game before heading into the fall season!

From project milestones and community events to time spent together as a team, this summer gave us plenty to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable season.

Cheer’s to Summer 2026, and all that lies ahead for Team HC💚

From Vision to Reality: Valor Classical Academy

Valor Classical Academy’s  ribbon cutting marked more than the opening of a new school; it celebrated the beginning of a vision rooted in courage, service, and sacrifice. That vision was inspired by John Borbonus whose legacy and dedication helped inspire the school’s name, mission, and values.

John grew up on his family’s sod farm, the same land where Valor Classical Academy stands today. After graduating from Boise High School in 2005, he joined the U.S. Army.

On April 12, 2007, 19-year-old John served in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom. While manning a machine gun at his patrol base, he spotted a suicide truck carrying hundreds of pounds of explosives approaching approximately 20 American soldiers.

Instead of leaving his position, John continued firing and helped divert the truck from its intended path. The explosion took John’s life, but his actions helped prevent an even greater loss of life. The U.S. Army later awarded him the Silver Star for his extraordinary courage.

A statue of John in his dress uniform, displaying the medals he earned but never had the opportunity to wear, will stand at the center of the campus commemorative plaza. Thoughtfully positioned to face the school entrance, John’s salute will welcome students each day, serving as a lasting reminder of the values he embodied and the virtues at the heart of the school’s mission: courage, courtesy, honesty, perseverance, self-government, and service.

His bravery and sacrifice is reflected in the name Valor Classical Academy, where valor represents courage, selflessness, and the character the school hopes to inspire in its students. Construction began in April 2024 and was completed in August 2026, just in time to welcome students for the new school year.

This 50,774-square-foot, two-story school includes 24 classrooms, administrative and resource spaces, a flexible cafeteria and multipurpose space, a kitchen, playground, green space, and activity areas. Valor Classical Academy will initially serve students in kindergarten through fourth grade, with plans to grow into a K–12 campus accommodating up to 702 students.

A military memorial was also constructed to provide the community with a dedicated space to honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces and recognize their service and sacrifices.

For HC Company, this project means more than constructing a building. It was an honor to be part of the team that brought to life a school rooted in vision, courage, character and community. One that will carry John Borbonus’ legacy forward and inspire generations to come.

Building for the Future: John Adams Academy

Schools are more than buildings; they’re where lifelong memories are made. The spaces where students learn, explore, and grow become the backdrop for moments they’ll carry with them for years.

That’s why thoughtful school design matters.

HC Company is proud to have recently completed the new John Adams Academy campus in Littleton, Colorado.

John Adams Academy is a public charter school serving students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Designed with students, staff, and families in mind, the two-story, 33,000-square-foot campus provides a welcoming, functional environment that supports learning and strengthens community.

On August 1, 2026, approximately 450 community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the academy’s new home.

“Being able to see the staff and community just so excited for the building was nice and rewarding.”  said Patrick Hannaford, Project Manager.

The campus features a wide range of amenities, including:

  • Full-size gymnasium equipped with:
    • Retractable basketball goals
    • Volleyball system
    • Protective wall padding
  • Multipurpose cafeteria designed for:
    • Daily student use
    • School events and community gatherings
  • Parking and access drives to provide safe and efficient campus circulation
  • Two playgrounds featuring:
    • Shade canopies
    • Pour-in-place rubber safety surfacing
    • Basketball and tetherball courts
    • Beautifully landscaped playfields

This new campus provides a durable, purpose-built educational environment that reflects the shared commitment of John Adams Academy and HC Company to excellence in education while supporting the continued growth of the Littleton community.

More Than a Celebration: Eagle Fun Days 2026

Eagle, Idaho | June, 2026

There is something special about a community that comes together to celebrate where they live. Eagle Fun Days is more than a weekend of festivities. It is a celebration of the people, traditions, and local businesses that make Eagle such a remarkable place to call home.

Throughout the weekend, our team enjoyed welcoming families and visitors to our booth, connecting with fellow local businesses, and joining the parade with our float. Whether we were handing out giveaways, sharing conversations, or simply waving to familiar and new faces along the parade route, every interaction reminded us why Eagle has earned its reputation as one of Idaho’s most vibrant communities.

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as HC Company begins a new chapter in Eagle with the opening of our new headquarters. While our roots have always been firmly planted in the Treasure Valley these past 24 years, establishing our home in Eagle has been met with an incredibly warm welcome. Eagle Fun Days gave us the opportunity to experience firsthand the pride, generosity, and sense of belonging that define this community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, cheered us on during the parade, and took the time to introduce themselves. We are excited to continue building relationships, supporting local events, and investing in the community we are proud to call home ❤
